Far-right extremist streamer Nick Fuentes has been charged with assault following an alleged attack on a woman from Berwyn, Illinois, last month.

Charges and Incident Details

According to court records, Fuentes, 26, is accused of “knowingly making insulting physical contact” with Marla Rose, 57, who is also a Berwyn resident.

The incident occurred on November 10 after Fuentes’ home address was leaked online. The incident is believed to be connected to Fuentes’ provocative statement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where he wrote: “Your body. My choice. Forever.” The post was widely interpreted as addressing abortion rights following Donald Trump’s presidential election win.

Rose, who describes herself as a progressive, stated in an interview that she approached Fuentes’ house but was met with aggression. She alleged that Fuentes opened the door before she could ring the bell, pepper-sprayed her, yelled expletives, and grabbed her phone, taking it inside his house.

Fuentes turned himself in to the Berwyn Police Department on November 27 for booking and fingerprinting before being released on the same day. His first court hearing is scheduled for December 19 at the Maywood Courthouse.

Nick Fuentes’ Controversial Background

Nick Fuentes, a 2016 graduate of Lyons Township High School, has a long history of extremist views. Although he denies being a white supremacist, federal authorities have referred to Fuentes as a white supremacist in court documents.

In 2017, Fuentes attended the infamous “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, where Heather Heyer was killed by a neo-Nazi. Fuentes also played a prominent role in the “Stop the Steal” rallies supporting Donald Trump’s claims of election fraud in 2020.

Backlash Against Fuentes

Fuentes’ misogynistic comments on social media triggered widespread backlash. According to the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, mentions of phrases like “your body, my choice” and “get back in the kitchen” surged by 4,600% within 24 hours of his post.

Researchers also noted that these phrases have even spread to schools, highlighting the broad impact of divisive rhetoric.(*)
